Mark is a native Californian born in the San Gabriel Valley. He was educated at the University of California graduating with a degree in Economics. While at UCI Mark was the Most Valuable Player on the basketball team for the first two years of UCI’s existence.
His real estate career spans over 40 years starting at Coldwell Banker as an Industrial and Investment broker. Following his move to Sacramento in 1969 Mark became involved in the development of shopping centers, offices and residential subdivisions. He also started his ranching operation in Wilton, CA.
Mark and his wife, Abbie, own Five Star Land & Livestock. Together they have one of the most respected Angus Bull Sales in the West.
He has been involved politically with the cattle industry in his various positions within both the purebred and commercial industries. He was President and a Board member of the western States Angus Association as well as a Past President of the California Cattlemen’s Association.
Mark also is involved with his community as a member of the Elk Grove Rotary club and was a member of the Sacramento County Day School Board of Trustees.
