• Ryan Nelson joined the Hesseltine Realty team in 2010.  He was born into a ranching family in Wilton, CA, and is a 5th generation Angus producer.  His family owns and operates Five Star Land and Livestock, a successful seedstock Angus ranch.  Ryan graduated from Fresno State in December of 2009, with a B.S. degree in Animal Science, emphasis in Livestock Production and Management, and was a member of Alpha Gamma Rho, a professional agricultural fraternity.

He has been extremely active in the California Cattlemen’s Association, where he was the state chairman of the Young Cattlemen’s Committee in 2008.  He has also served as president and vice-president of the Fresno State Young Cattlemen’s Association.  Ryan is also a member of the American Quarter Horse Association, the American Cowboys Team Roping Association, the National Reining Cow Horse Association, the Lodi Association of Realtors, and the California Association of Realtors.

Ryan prides himself on being an agent who not only understands land and real estate, but also production agriculture through a first-hand experience.  Through connections made being involved in beef cattle production, Ryan has established a client base of true cattlemen.  Ryan also has experience with agricultural land of all types.  When not working, Ryan enjoys running his commercial cow/calf operation, team roping, running his family's seedstock operation, and procuring new Buyers and Sellers at various agricultural functions throughout the Western United States.

Why should you choose to work with Mark and Ryan?

    • We aren’t “just real estate people.”  We own and operate a purebred Angus seedstock herd, and our family has been in the beef business for 101 years.  We have calluses on our hands and know the ins and outs of running a cattle operation (but that doesn’t mean we’ve stopped learning either).
    • Most real estate brokers show up at the office at 9:00AM and go home at 5:00PM, and sit in their office the whole time in between then.  We are out and about, pounding the pavement (or in our case, pounding the dirt and grass) looking for business.  We believe in face to face contact, and getting out into the market personally is the best way to do that.
    • We are the kind of the guys who take the “Code of the West” to heart.  If we shake your hand and look you in the eye, you can rest assured that there is no B.S. going on.  While we do appreciate the “old school” way of doing things, we are also very up to date when it comes to technology and exposure.
    • Mark offers over 40 years of real estate experience, and Ryan offers a “boots on the ground” mentality of doing a lot of the grunt work that needs doing, all the while learning from Mark.
    • Mark is a past California Cattlemen’s Association president, a member of the Rancheros Vistadores, and a member of the California Farm Bureau.  Ryan is a past California Young Cattlemen’s Committee Chairman, member of the California Farm Bureau, and is an alumnus of the Alpha Gamma Rho fraternity, a professional agricultural fraternity.  No one has more connections and a bigger address book than we do.  NO ONE.
    • We utilize many different ways of selling your property or finding you a new one.  We can sell a good ranch without ever putting a single advertisement online or in a publication, or we can advertise all over the place, it all depends on how you, as our client, want to go about it.
    •  We go to bat 100% for our clients.  We will turn over every rock to find you the right piece of farm or ranch ground, or to find you the perfect Buyer for your property.
